Past experience include medical device design and development, teaching at universities (robotics, c++) or robotic competition organization (Eurobot, Robotour). I consider open sourcing design to be the best way to go for the whole society. I hated when we had to first rediscover and reimplement all the things the competing product were already doing instead of starting with the best in the field and adding something really novel.
