As the world transitions to a peacetime economy, one question is what happens to standing armies. Currently, the US spends a trillion dollars per year on its army. Imagine what would happen if this money were spent instead on schools, open source microfactory so, and other life-giving infrastructure.

For this to happen, a key element is the open source microfactory. Once the microfactory and Civilization in a Box is ready to be replicated inexpensively anywhere in the world, that is a negotiating ng point for beginning to covert weaponry to livinry, in Buckminster Fuller's terms.
