Kibbutz Samar is an anarcho-socialist kibbutz located in the Aravad desert in southern Israel.
Solar
Bryan Medwed built a couple linear concentrator systems on the kibbutz, including a 5 kW prototype and 30-meter-tall, 100 kW solar power tower. When I (Michael Altfield) visited in 2019, the solar power tower was not in operation, the central tower had black marks indicating that it may have been burned (perhaps run dry?) and thus ceased to operate.
