  • $24 for a 1-7/8 bushing, but $11 for 2" bushing - 2" long. [1]

Notes

  • Shafting standard for OSE was 1-7/8" to date.
  • To integrate with heavy duty Universal Axis CNC, we want to do a regular size of 2" which costs 1/2 that of odd sizes for the bushings.
  • Cold rolled steel - assumption is that cost is similar for 1-7/8" and 2" shaft.
  • Only disadvantage is that XXH 2" pipe does not fit 2" shaft. 2" pipe fits 1-7/8" shaft. XXH is much cheaper than DOM for this application. Product ecology dictates lower part count over cost optimization, as effective cost optimization of product ecology is much higher than cost reduction via lower cost parts.
