Gradient Infill

Basics

  • Load is not distributed evenly
  • the edges have either high Compressive Stress , or high Tensile Stress, this diminishes with a gradient to the center which has none
  • Infill in 3D Printing is usually constant, which does not match this gradient
  • Gradient Infill attempts to fix this
  • Essentially the amount of infill (usually by extrusion "thickness") decreases as it is closer to the "Center"
  • This decreases waste and should work better
