Notes

  • Asch and Crutchford experiment
  • Those who rebelled at the Milgram Experiment were more developed psycho-social than the obedient majority. 78% pulled the trigger for horrendous pain, 65% at life-threatening pain. Consisten with the Best and the Brightest, and it would be interesting to see how the same test would fare at a more earthy A&M university, or at a more progressive school.
  • Totalitarians are willing to subject themselves to a strong authority to repair them by force? P.93
  • Another source of meaningless and repetitive activity is the work that many people must do
  • Competence is enhancing the development of others
  • Individualism and cooperation are only two of the many false dichotomies over which men deadlock and thereby proclaim their psycho-social infancy.
