The different trades - foundation, framing, rough-in, finishing, siding, MEP - have an adversarial relationship - as in, 'why did trade X (they) make it so hard for trade Y (me) to do my job? Those dumbasses!' The practical ourltcome is cost increase by virtue of extra materials or time needed to do an equivalent job if it were designed better.
