On Electrical Panel

  • Load balancing seems only to save on resistive wire losses of running more power through the same wires. This appears to be negligible to the actual loads, though. [1].
  • It does not appear that if you run 1kW on 120v, that you would be charged differently than running 1 kW on 240v. Ie, a proper power meter adds up usage on both legs, not usage on one leg x2. Ie, power meter assumes some level of power unbalancing - and does not charge you for it. Except for resistive wire losses as in video [2]
