100%. More Hours Work does not always mean more ‘’’work’’’ done that day.

There can be cases for longer days, especially in terms of increasing post-setup pre-packup Work Hours, but fatigue really does need to be taken into account, especially with Heat Exposure risks like here in summer.

Heat Stroke is no joke and you can’t push through that.

Also granted some workers (especially the CLD Drivers i Know) love overtime for the extra pay, but from an employer’s perspective that time and a half adds up, also Work Life Balance is really crappy for some of those overtime hounds which gets to you eventually.

Breaks on the top of the hour are great, even for just classwork. OSHA-30 / HAZWOPER and such tended to try and stick to that so people’s brains don’t start melting

For work it really depends on the situation, but 5x8 Hour Days, 4x10 Hour Days, OR if some crazy overtime/over ighter is pulled for whatever reason, pencil in to the schedule a day or so of rest+recovery after that rather than a 5 Hour Turnaround for some other job with the risk of Drowsy Driving etc

CDL Drivers are even limited by law here in the USA on that, although cheating isn’t unheard of in the world of paper logs, re Paper Logs vs EDL

I was talking with a coworker and heard about a work schedule that basically alternated 4 way and 5 day workweeks

Also for credibikity reasons i guess i worked 4x10 Hour Days in my electrical jobs with the RARE overtime if a jobsite was finishing up etc

Currently doing a job that has 5x8 Hour Days with Frequent Suprise Overtime and far too many expected quick turnarounds due to ‘’’not the best management’’’

Anywho i’m not as experienced as some, but i agree with this page and wanted to add what i do know about+have experienced
