Open Source Heat Pump Requirements + Value Proposition
Consulting for Open Heat Pump Design TO HVAC ServiceTech
Hi,
Love your transparent documentation. I work on open source tech - see my recent viral video - https://www.instagram.com/p/DPTpHWzjMN3/ or TED Talk in my signature. We build housing and open tech for a living.
I would like to ask you if you can help us design an open source heat pump. What we would need from you is part selection for an integrated heat pump system equivalent to Senville Aura 24000 BTU or similar - down to -22F for temperate climates. With your knowledge, we would like to streamline our process of part selection for a robust heat pump, using common, widely available off the shelf parts. The main goal is lifetime design. Consumer heatpumps are design for obsolescence, and we would like to service and maintain ours for a lifetime - to reduce the cost of living. We want to make this knowhow completely available like you do with your service tech work. The value proposition is a heat pump that lasts for ever as one could get parts and repair, and open source blueprints are availabe. We can design our own controller and 3D print casings, or build metal enclosures. We need detailed part selection assistance to make this happen, releasing everything under a true open source license. We would like to pursue certification (UL, AHRI, etc) so that anyone could start an enterprise manufacturing, using open source refrence designs and certification assistance, as part of our public interest work.
Would you be open to helping us with this?
Thanks, Marcin
