It mentions an “Air-tight ash cleanout”

Is this basically a Fireplace Gasket Lined Hatch, or is this something continuous like a Rotary Airlock / screw etc?

Personally i find anything burner related without a means for “online ash removal” gets a bit annoying, case and point Biolite Campstove

To an extent though, between low Ash Content Charcoal (Potentially even MRC etc, and a highly turbulent/high suction system leading into the cyclone etc reminiscent of a Circulating Fluidized Bed , if you made near all the ash Fly Ash instead of Bottom Ash it could work well.

My other concern is depending on temperature etc, are we getting into ash sintering/melted slag formation temperatures? Given you are ALMOST making a charcoal blast furnace etc temp control can be important. Either Temperature Probes and/or POTENTIALLY some sort of Sight Block / view port Synthetic Sapphire watch faces potentially? To be able to monitor the hot zone and potentially a blast furnace like “dead man” or whatever they called that central dead zone due to lack of air etc would be nice.

The greenhill forge design used some temperature probes which was nice.
