Power pack

  1. $27 - [1]. Yale sez - Benefits:- Rechargable - Replaceable (especially for a camera).- USB so you dont need to get a battery pack going. - In the past I've used this as power exclusively for a Pi on my desk. I mostly do Headless-Raspian when I'm playing around. I must get 6+ hours from 1 battery. Maybe more.
  2. Sound - Yale sez - 1. All mics seem to suck so far. I've used these ones:https://www.adafruit.com/product/3367?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm6K45dv05gIVCaGzCh2UXwjYEAQYAiABEgIc__D_BwE

- No pickup- Terrible sound2. I've also done it this wayhttps://www.adafruit.com/product/1475 - This is decent adapter and lets you get different mics. I've had some Lapelle ones that I used for Elly's talking AI: https://fellowsblog.ted.com/singularity-is-near-and-its-in-the-form-of-a-dachshund-named-elly-79431b1d3681

Microphone

From Yale:

i've used this one and do not recommend it, https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/adafruit-industries-llc/3367/1528-1898-ND/6623861?utm_adgroup=Accessories&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping_Computer%20Equipment_NEW&utm_term=&utm_content=Accessories&gclid=CjwKCAiA6vXwBRBKEiwAYE7iS_O6n6NsA9ftgEnWVMTwwPIPhJg8TRl3okllTB6lahr7bajPQO-WAxoCZYsQAvD_BwE

When I used this audio card + mic, it worked but was a pretty big pain in the ass: USB-Audio (great for such a cheap thing) https://www.adafruit.com/product/1475

+ Lapel Mic: https://www.amazon.com/Simlug-Microphone-Clip-Lavalier-Lapel/dp/B07VNMR9LM/ref=sr_1_1?crid=32VIUAR4YC7YV&keywords=usb+lapel+microphone&qid=1579052677&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=usb+lapel%2Cmi%2C140&sr=1-1

But the one I finally went with, which is not on the super-cheap end, but is by far the best, easiest: https://www.raspiaudio.com/raspiaudio-aiy

Best,

Yale Fox
