Basics

  • This is what is often called a "Crystal Radio"
  • This design uses a 3d printed housing+coil core (in one part), magnet wire, aluminum foil, some small springs, a diode (or crystal detector if diodes are unavailable or you want the challenge/effect), and a small in ear monitor (IEM, earbud, earpod ( these are called by many names)), as the only parts
  • recieves AM radio
  • Is very faint, but can be amplified with an external amplifier if desired
