Introduction
works for the University of Missouri as a licensing and business development associate where I help commercialize technologies developed at Mizzou. I came across your TED talk in 2013, and recently realized that you live just a few hours away. I think it would be good for us to meet. I have been interested in crowdfunding and business cooperatives for a few years now, and I also have some inventions that I think would be good for your global village construction set (a welder/mill metal 3D printer and a wind turbine). Also, my mother-in-law works for the Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC). She and I have experience helping small businesses find funding (grants/loans), and we might be able to help you in that regard as well if you are interested.
You can read some of my blogs on crowdsourced cooperatives here: https://adamblumhagen.net/crowdsourced-cooperative-business-platform/ and here: https://adamblumhagen.net/a-discussion-on-coases-firm-theory/ It is similar to opensource, but still allows for a profit mechanism.
And see some of the inventions I have built here: https://adamblumhagen.net/category/inventions/
