The backhoe, cherrypicker, hoist, crane, industrial robot, boom, loader, wrecking ball, lumber truck, dump bed, and a number of other machines are variations on the oncept of an articulated arm. An articulated arm and pivots are one of the key components of the Tractor Construction Set. Here are some examples:
