We are creating a protocol for animated assembly animations. The concept is to take a Sketchup file - disassemble a machine in Sketchup while recording video - and playing the video in reverse to obtain a detailed animation sequence.

Concept:

Here is a sample file of a Sketchup Cube obtained by copying and pasting Warehouse tubing into a new Sketchup file, according to basic instructions shown in Sketchup Tutorial 2.

File:32cube.skp

And here is a sample screen capture obtained by using RecordMyDesktop on Ubuntu.

<html><iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/aAUVe7AEnHA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></html>

Rendering that video from RecordMyDesktop was almost instantaneous - under 10 seconds.
