I feed a lot of scraps, my neighbor works at a small cafe in the neighborhood and brings me a lot of vegetables and baked goods that didnt sell that week. I also have automated feeders for when I'm away though. We like to go to Key West or Mexico in November/December when the weather gets unbearable, which is what drove all the automation.

I have left the birds for as long as a month before and everything was just fine upon my return. When away from home I make it a point to check the cams morning, noon and night to make sure everythings good.
