  • From CB Galus - On engineers, as engineers are licensed only in certain states and the foundation requirements change with the soil conditions upon which the structure is built you might have a hard time finding on that would sign a blanket like statement as to the applicability of your current design to function in all locations that a building might be built. However, the 2012 International Residential Code has in Chapter 4 "Foundations" prescriptions for foundations that would be applicable to nearly every area you might build in. As I tell the Tiny Home folks design to the code it is something that everyone in the building trades recognizes as do city, county and state officials that you are likely to encounter.
