Basics
- A Cordless Power Tool for inflating stuff/checking the pressure of Pneumatic Tires
- Takes 20v Batteries, 12v Power (via an adapter) or wall power (via an UNINCLUDED adapter)
- Can do Low Pressure, High Volume (For Pool Inflatables, Air Mattresses, or for Blowing Out HVAC Drain Lines etc), or High Pressure, Low Volume (For Tires, but also Soccer Balls/Basketballs etc
Review by User: Eric
- So far so good
- 2ah Battery isn’t QUITE enough, but other than that it’s been great
- Digital readout+auto stop is VERY nice
- Note that for anything above 50 PSI it starts getting a bit slow
- Absolute CHAMP for small flat tires/a “Maintenance refill” of a few PSI, but going from 30psi to 70 psi on a tire etc is a bit of a pain, and probably best left to a PROPER air compressor
- Uncertain on longevity of parts too if stressed like that
- Manual mentions don’t go over 100psig/it may have problems around there but who knows
- Need a BOLTR style review+teardown
- Also Air Pressure Metrology needs to be sorted out
- Also uncertain on “cleanliness” of the compressed air, i THINK it is an Oil Free Air Compressor but who knows
- Also a kit of adapters would be nice for car tires (to get into nooks etc)
- I’ll list the case, but short of M/NP Pollution Concerns from the Foam, the Third Party Hard Case i got for it is VERY nice and makes it a good bit of VEDC Kit.
Potential Improvements
- Ability to calibrate it
- Ie “here is 50psig from a NIST Traceable Source
- Uncertain if adding ambient temp+humidity sensor module could help with that too for “what is ambient right now”
- Also could help with Weather Based Tire Pressure Adjustments
- IE “it is cold now, so if we max inflate it, when it is 90f next week we don’t want these to burst so lets not go TOO high” etc
- The ability to deflate tires (rapidly) to a set value (ie can go up if low, and down if high, from the SV, as of now it can only add air
- Easily Replaceable Hose
- Option for running on USB-C PD
- Pre-Filter for both pumps
- Post-Filter and Dryer for the Compressed Air
- Replaceable Anti-Vibration Feet
- Also potentially a more “inherently balanced” pump?
- Either tilted, tiltable, or dual screens so you don’t have to tilt the unit to read the values
- It would add to bulk+complexity, but maybe have an “accessory tank” + conventional regulator assembly that is roughly the same dimensions. Not a TON of capacity, but could take the edge off the compressor (then be removed when not needed)
- Thermal Sensors on Pump for Shutdown in the Event of Overheat (if this doesn’t already exist)
- Also could show pump temp on a screen
- Depending on Oil Free Air Compressor life and/or how much Oil Ones can be miniaturized, that may be a nice variant for Lifetime Design reasons
Closing Thoughts
- All in all, especially if on sale, it’s a great buy that lets you easily “fix” low tires/toys and inflate air mattress and whatnot in a small form factor, using just about any type of power, and in not TOO bulky of a form factor
- Short of potential improvements, or if it doesn’t last (in which case I’ll update this) it’s a great piece of kit
