OSE is working on creating the open source economy. We expand consciousness by hands-on, interdisciplinary, immersion training. The pathway for 2016-2035 is outlined at the Roadmap page.

To track performance, the requirement is that we are able to track the adoption of our work. The means to tracking involve:

  1. A Forum specifically for replicators who are building upon our work and learning from each other. This requires that a community of replicators is built.
  2. The number of new organizations that are OSE Certified, or who otherwise adopt our brand on a case by case basis.
  3. The number of active wiki contributors, as well as OSE approved Maintainers and Editors.
  4. Number of individuals who adopt our templates - for organizational and Enterprise purposes, where templates have metadata for allowing the tracking of usage.
  5. Number of people who utilize the OSHW Dashboard markup that identify projects as derivatives of OSE. This can be searched through the web.
  6. Number of independent OSE Chapters that follow best practices for good standing. The number of informl User Groups. The number of OSE Core Development Campuses (OSE land based Campuses or branches).

A very tangible way to determine machine replication is with a downloads page with a user agreement that encourages people to let us know if they plan to build or have replicated one of our open source products. Email capture or login via wiki is one way to do this. There could be a concept preview with pretty pictures, but actual instructions and blueprints would be only via login - such that a person does not waste their time or our bandwidth by having a choice to download an overview without any registration - and to download yltechnical material only after reviewing the conceptual material.

To do this, we would like to have:

  1. Material packagesy forma d such that an entire repo is downloaded like github.
  2. Download counter counts number of downloads.
  3. Contact info is captured for future updates or reporting of builds.
  4. People are put on a map of downloads to track the number of downloads and actual builds
  5. Replicators have an easy way to report and put up pictures, such that more information can be discovered.
  6. A replicators Forum is available to promote replication.
