Harvesting Rate

  • 1000 acres per day, or 40 acres per hour. [1]. 40 bushels, or 2400 lb. 40 acres*2400 lb = 50 tons per hour. Holy shit. If turned over in the bakery at $1/bread - we have generated $100k worth of wheat per hour. At commodity rate of $6/bu - that is 10 cents per pound. That is still $10k per hour value generated. For 1000 acres, value is $240k. This could be made appropriate if the farmer got the $3 value of a loaf of bread instead of 10 cents of wheat in the bread. The OSE Campus can deliver this value to the producer by providing the bakery infrastructure for this, if an efficient operation is run.
