Housing Big Picture

Humans appear to be an outlier compared to all species, in that housing is a major stressor. Being homeless is considered a curse and is a serious preoccupation. To this end, we make housing affordable by a concerted program of developing earth (CEB) housing, plastic/wood composites (abundant feedstocks from the waste stream). Thus, dead wood, yard waste becomes valuable. Earth is plentiful. 3D printing can automate production of large scale structures and rocks can be turned to concrete via solar concrete appliances. Metal can be made abundant via local microfactory induction furnaces. Since each process can be learned rapidly, and parts can be cut with CNC, computer assist becomes a friend.

By building houses from abundant local resources, housing no longer needs to be the stress that it currently is. We can become like other animals in terms of housing security.
