IMC Based HMCUs
Basics
- HMCUs that use Intermodal Containers as the main structual unit
- The "Standard" IMC should be a 40ft High Cube IMC or a 20ft High Cube IMC
Explanation
- The IMC makes up the frame
- On the walls the HMCU Wall Rail Mounting System is attached
- This allows for direct installation of modules, or for attachment of Open Rack cabinets for smaller modules
- A Unit for Power/Networking (And HVAC if included) is in the "front" (Closer to where a semi truck would be) (Name it IMC-HMCU Core Module Perhaps? )
- A drop ceiling for Utility Routing? (Perhaps should be only 1-2 pipe widths tall (For water/air/hydraulic fluid/power conduit/network conduit etc)
- Could the drop ceiling be made into a module/modules? Pipe Attachments would be the difficult part, quick disconnect perhaps? (This would also neccesitate some way to pull it out (Collapsable handle, hole for hooks/cables, recessed point with handles etc?
- Also have all cabinets etc use the latches used on boats/rvs to prevent them from opening during transport
- Also include tie down Padeye or some similar use for storing things like tents, generators, and cases etc in the "hallway" durning transit while still remaining secure
- Still need to investigate if structural reinforcement is needed
- Insulation if there is space/need
