Info-Rich Marking Strategy

When building a house, we make extensive use of marking as a means to coordinate effective swarm build which frees each contributor from having to look up design details such as dimensions or part choice. Builders can follow the marking without having to understand design logic. Info-rich marking is part of effective Interface Design - where we include the physical markup especially to note interface features such as where parts meet (fiducial markers), apertures, notches, cuts, etc.

We use the Info-Rich Marking step after the exterior is built to identify locations of interior walls, footprints of structures, MEP routing and penetrations inside and to the outside, etc. This allows for easy assembly, where the interfaces are defined at the design phase, they are marked at the build stage, and additional modules installed all conform to the interface design.

This allows for the inclusion of MEP in interior wall modules, and allows for the ready placement of all other MEP.
