Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are hiring! We are offering the first ever immersion program for OSE Fellows - a selective Fellowship where you get a chance to do something extraordinary while working with OSE full time. The application deadline is August 1, 2018 - please see details at https://wiki.opensourceecology.org/wiki/OSE_Immersion_Program . We have 2 excellent candidates that are finalizing their pitch - and we are looking for two more early adopters to join the team. We look forward to grow our team - with an ambitious goal of doubling every year for the next decade. That is what it will take to complete the Civilization in a Box that can be replicated inexpensively anywhere in the world. Sorry - it didn't happen 2 years after my 2011 TED Talk - as you can imagine, it's quite a complex task.

We just finished our CNC Circuit Mill build workshop - with specacular results. We were able to mill circuit boards perfectly on the very first try - after one year of development. We are pleased to announce the world's first complete open source toolchain integrated from design to the production of circuit boards. Parts for the build cost $500, while the next competing commercial product is $1500 for a circuit mill of the same performance. Our current roll-out is the Open Source Desktop Microfactory in the immersion training of 2018 - followed by the CNC Torch table and heavy machine production of tractors, CEB presses, etc in early 2019. In late 2019 we finally enter the immersion training on construction - the Seed Eco-Home/Aquaponic Greenhouse of our Open Building Institute collaboration.

The Open Source Desktop Microfactory is our open source answer to the proprietary Fab Lab machines - creating low cost access to powerful machines - and introducing the option for truly democratized open source product development. If you would like to experience the Open Source Desktop Microfactory first hand - and bring a 3D printer home with you - we are offering the one week-long Open Source Microfactory Boot Camp on August 25. You can sign up at https://www.opensourceecology.org/open-source-microfactory-boot-camp/ - you can read more about the promise there.

That's it for now. Thanks for your support, Marcin
