Microhouse 1 - Plaster - Concept
The best way to make plaster stay on is to prepare the wall correctly. Outside that means either proper stucco wire or well nailed on chicken wire especially around window and door frames. And inside roughened and wet properly. The next email is a picture of a wall readied for plaster and the rough coat going on with a lime plaster. I think your stucco was not mixed correctly (from what I could see) and it was not applied correctly on a properly prepared surface. I suggested to MJ that anyone going to plaster NOT begin on a finish wall but on a demo wall like outside in the garden to learn the technique. OKay, get David Easton's book on"The Rammed Earth" cause it has ALL of this and much more. For good plaster formulas go to Southwest Adobe School website and look up there stuff. I think they are open source too.......
