Degeneracy is a principle used in the GVCS machine ecosystem.

Non-degenerate Sprawl is a term that captures the essence of Non-degenerate design in it's contribution to unmanageable multiplicity of options.

What About Diversity?

How to reconcile degeneracy with diversity? Simply. If degeneracy relates to standards for modular design, then a degenerate system retains it's generative nature. This allows for a wide range of options by modular design. Indeed, it allows for a wider range of participation and options than that produced by Non-Degenerate Sprawl.
