3dprinters are regional: barcelona vs. munich vs. norway

  • must be: word of mouth. get an island.
  • selling 3d printers is HARD
  • $130 chinese printers, work really well, but not accessible.
  • sell the KNOWLEDGE OF 3d printer:
 * for ppl who already have 3d printers
 * the bigger picture.
 * universities: assembly
 * 3d printer long-term: lose vs. china
  • selling a pack: the chain ecology

--

  • every 2 weeks: what happens?
 * both types.
 * 3d design & operation
 * robot hospital
  • oni technology
 * in most of local school districts
 * transitioning away from building 3d printers
 * tarrifs are making components expensive.
 * trade war. 300% inc. in parts cost.
 * assembled printers are not under a tarrif.
 * amazon, ebay, alibaba prices: ...
 * 1st time tinkerer: get bored of it before they push limits of modest machine
 * chinese market is gobbling all of that: pr10x for chump change, less than parts cost for oni
 * running alongside: owner... it's a piece of garbage but it works.
 * it's a tough market right now.
 * when it was all magic, brand new. traditional industry hadn't been pumping out machines: they're still garbage, there's 1mil options, it dilutes what market there is for good machines
 * i've seen printerbots just folded up after all this time
 * markbot hasn't had a new offering in forever bc of this stress
 * ultra maker still chugging along, they're out of the country, unimpacted [made in neterhlands]
 * they were never a budget printer, not competing w/ china.
 * prusa: 8k/mo. : name recognition, fan boys, they have their own gravity. good quality.
