What is it

Open Source Ecology is a movement dedicated to building the world's first open source high tech off-grid resilient community.

Why

  • We believe that resilient communities are superior to non-resilient communities due to their ability to adapt to a changing world where complex interdependent systems can break down due to myriad factors.
  • Due to the scale of global economic and governmental systems in the world today they inherently lack accountability.
  • Local economies and governments are more accountable to the people and the environment because the effects are closer and more apparent.
  • Resilient communities are robust, sustainable, and accountable. They take what is good about the current economic system and change what is not working.
