Introduction

The first OSE Fellows cohort will remain involved in Desktop Microfactory topics. Fellows create their yearly Critical Path - and reevaluate any goals during their quarterly performance review.

2018-2019

  • Validate XM and XE training revenue model - that it can scale to unlimited people (dozen dozen with no hint of saturation). Theoretical limit: 12 people, 10 schools each person month, 12 months = over 1000 schools per year. Must validate repeat customers with CNCCM plus laser plus filament maker.
  • Validate feasibility of Design Jams on 3DP power tool Construction Set - with classrooms and libraries, and HeroX integration.
  • For design Jams actively recruit science classrooms in high school and etc to validate feasibility of the Open Source Robotics Competition
  • Validate scalability - Scale printer to minimum of 2x3x8 for printing up to plastic lumber
  • Validate feasibility of OS Everything Store - does it support itself? Does drop ship product + online home Microfactory work? Does 3D printed self-packaging work?
  • Validate economic performance of top 10 OSES products and feasibility of $50/hour net revenue capacity
  • Validate materials production of bioplastics as the last step
  • Validate metal embedded filaments
  • Validate metal 3D printing
  • Validate fired ceramic and flameware printing
  • Validate fiber insulation printing, reticulated foam printing, gaskets and seals, PC glazing, plumbing, and wire-embedded printing.
  • Validate team self esteem growth to enable open, nonviolent group meetings
  • Validate cultural growth by frictionless direction consistent with critical path as determined by ED
  • Validate 6 mm filament standard
  • Validate recyclability of main filament types
  • Validate fiber-embedded filaments
  • Validate water hydraulic component printing
  • Validate electric motor printing
  • Validate feasibility of 9-printer cluster as an economic core.
