Existing Open Source Designs

Minimum Viable Product

- Uses Either Electric, or Hydraulic Engines for the lift fan(s)

- Thrust can either be a fan similar to the lift fan, or some sort of jet engine

- Keep the air intakes not near the cabin (unlike many hovercraft)

- Powercube Driven

- Fast

- Scaleable from a 1 passenger version to a 10 passenger version



Basic Design

Hull

- Fiberglass or Composite Hull

- Printed in one piece using the Open Source Watercraft Hull Printer


Powercube Array

- Anywhere from a single to a 5 slot array


Lift Fan(s)

- These provide the air cushion

- Usually lower power, so they can easily be hydraulic or electric

- 3D Printed Blades

- Either just one in the front, or one in each corner, or a triangle setup of one in the front and one one each side


Skirt

- This Helps contain and maintain a larger air cushion

- Is either a thick fabric, or some sort of plastic sheeting


Cabin

- This is optional, but would enclose the cockpit built in to the hull
