Existing Open Source Designs
-
Minimum Viable Product
- Open Source
- Modular
- User Maintainable (Easily)
- User Upgradable
- Scaleable ( A 5 Meter Aquafin/Laser Clone all the way to a massive yacht over 20 Meters )
- Has an inboard hydraulic pump-jet motor powered by a "PowerCube Array"
- Electric/Bio-diesel/DME Powered Power Cubes
- User Collapsible Mast
- Unsinkable (i.e filled with a foam like material see this
- Is much cheaper while still retaining quality
- Optional Automation
- Larger versions contain all major utilities (Water (Both Stored and Made on Board) , Ac+DC Power, Networking, Communication, etc. )
- Pump Jet Powered Maneuvering Thrusters
- Centralized Cathodic Protection
Basic Design
Hull
- Fiberglass or Composite
- Printed in One Piece Using The Open Source Watercraft Hull Printer
Weighted Keel
- This prevents it from tipping over
- Need to decide what metal to use
- Would we want two hull layers with this "sanwiched" in between possibly?
Mast
- A mast with no stays
- Should also be able to telescope, or fold down for storage, or going under bridges (and do this without cranes etc)
Powercube Array
- Provides power for the hydraulic engines (Both for thrust when not using sails (such as when docking), and for bow thrusters if used)
- Most Likely Powercube Array Rack Cabinets, or Powercube Arrray Rack Cabinet Containers
