Open Source Peristaltic Pump

Contents
Basics
- This page goes over the existing projects, and the potential for an OSE Standard Design for a Peristaltic Pump
Minimum Viable Product
- For the non-medical applications OSE is interested in, a moderate flow rate is desirable
- ie not miniscule amounts, short of those medical uses, or some Scientific Uses Lab Scale devices etc, not Pilot Plant level stuff)
- This can probably be maximum Flow Rate of 250-1000 mL/Min
- Using normal NEMA Stepper Motors is desirable
- Using standard Silicone Tubing (or Latex Tubing in applications where that is not an issue) Sizes is a must
- Either having the flow directly controlled by an Arduino + Arduino Shield / Breakout Board or even just a Breadboard, a Custom PCB , or having this be an easy future option via some sort of common existing Electrical Connector / port is a must
Existing Open Source Designs
Great Scott! (YouTube Channel)
- A Video by the YouTube Channel "Great Scott!" Titled "Peristaltic Pump || DIY or Buy" ( ~8 Minute Watch Time )
- The Project's Instructable Page
- They based the design of their 3D Printed Parts on an EOSD on Thingiverse by a User Called "Ralf" Titled "Low cost peristaltic pump"
- They post the 3D Printed Parts on both this, and ones modified for the NEMA 17 Stepper Motor they used, rather than the Brushed DC Motor originally used, on the instructable page itself as well
- They also post their Control Electronics Design Which Uses:
- 1x Arduino Nano
- 1x NEMA 17 Stepper Motor
- 1x DRV8825 Stepper Motor Driver
- 1x 10kΩ Potentiometer
- 1x 100µF Capacitor
- 1x Arduino Nano
Internal Links
- Devices this Technology Enables
- Open Source Drink Dispensing Robot / Open Source Soda Fountain / Open Source Cocktails Machine etc
- Open Source Infusion Pump
- Open Source Fuel Additive Injection Systems / Open Source Fuel Blending Systems and similar devices, although depending on volume being dispensed / Flow Rate etc, a Venturi Effect Mixer may be used
