This page aims to lay out a semi-standardized Architecture for storing and using Propane using largely COTS equipment

Propane Forklift Tanks
20LB Propane Tanks
- RV Dual RV Propane Tank Cylinder Rack
  - Allows for “quick switching” from one to the other
- Propane Distribution Post
  - Allows for use of a 20lb tank with smaller devices and/or a Propane Mantle Lantern
1LB Propane Tanks
- While the green disposable ones are worth mentioning, and remain an option in emergencies, Refillable 1LB Propane Tanks are the main ones of note
- Mr. Heater Fuel Keg
  - Better for most cases due to an attached ring based valve, rather than needing an allen key
  - Refilled from an Inverted 20lb tank, or an adapter and LTO Tank + Hose
- Flame King Refillable 1LB Propane Cylinder Tank
  - Not optimal, but may be more available locally
  - Refilled from an Inverted 20lb tank, or an adapter and LTO Tank + Hose
  - Their 1/4LB Tank IS notable however as Mr. Heater does NOT make an equivalent model, and it pairs nicely for a Mini-Blowtorch / Torch Lighter , or for use with Propane Mantle Lanterns

Two Stage Propane Regulators
- Supposedly Better
20lb Fitting->1LB Fitting (and vice versa)
Flame King Brand AND Mr Heater Brand Fill Adapters
- Both work roughly the same, but due to a notch are not intercompatible
Ignik TapRack
- Uncertain how much of a gimmick it is, but refills 4x 1LB Bottles at once from a hose
- Can it be used with Flame King and/or Mr Heater Brand Tanks is the question?

20LB Propane Exchanges
- One of the main advantage (at least in a North America context) is the ease of Buying a New Full Tank, or Exchanging an Empty, or ESPECIALLY Empty+Old/Rusted Tank for a New Full One
- Some ones attached to Walmarts/Home Depots are even self service
- A ripoff if the tank is fine and you just need propane, so a Uhaul, Propane Dealership, or Gas Station with Autogas etc are options to “shop around” and save on, along with Propane Delivery , but all in all a neat service worth mentioning
