Reinforced Concrete Pipe
Intro
- Standards - 200 gallon/mile leakage per 24 hours, per inch of pipe diameter [phttps://www.concretepipe.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/pn_summaryoffieldtests.pdf]. So for 24" pipe - 4800 gallons per mile per 24 hours. So one gallon per day per foot. 10 gallons per day per 10 foot section. That is a little less than a cubic meter via Volume Calculator.
- Cost of reinforced concrete pipe - $140 for 8' section 2008 - [1]
- Pressure rating of reinforced concrete pipe - 5000 PSI concrete. For a 24" diameter pipe, PSI of water stored can be 5000/75 = 70 PSI. Need to go lower - unless we have 50,000 psi of steel involved.
