Rewilding
Basics
- The process of returning land to a "wild" state (that of the wilderness/wildlands pre-human involvement)
- This typically involves land on the outer parts of a Green Belt near actual existing Wilderness
- Small scale typically involves planting of native plants, returning land/water features to what would be optimal and/or most similar to the original pre-human intervention form
- The definition is typically used for the more large scale concepts such as reintroduction of native apex predators/keystone species
