Roller Compacted Concrete
Basics
- Abbreviated as RCC
- A type of Concrete that has very little water in the mix, and occasionally Fly Ash to reduce thermal cracking
- It is spread out and compacted using vibratoryu rollers similar to asphalt
- One of the strongest forms of concrete
Used For
- Hydroelectric Dams
- Pumped Hydroelectric Storage
- High Durability Roads (Also roads without asphalt) like Germany's Panzerstraße which are probably some of the toughest permanent roads to exist
Subtypes
- Roller Compacted Nanoconcrete
- Roller Compacted Fiber Reinforced Concrete
- Roller Compacted Fiber Reinforced Nanocrete
Internal Links
- Open Source Concrete Construction Set
- Rammed Earth (Similar concept but with Earth / Cob / Similar Mixes to Stabilized Compressed Earth Blocks
- Slip Forming with a compaction mechanism similar to the semi-mechanized Rammed Earth Construction may be of interest, could it allow for RCC Strength Slip Formed Walls etc?)
