Introduction

Happy New Year.

Next summer - 2020 we will be moving forward on much of the construction work - and will be publishing a manual that you all can likely benefit from. We are holding an entire 3 month Summer of Extreme Design-Build . We'll be moving the state of art forward quite a bit as we begin 3D printing the types of construction panels that go into the Seed Eco-Home! That will be a major step, as we just started producing our 3D printers for sale, and we are scaling them up next year to produce full-sized, 4x8 foot construction panels. And, we will be using waste plastic as the feedstock for making 3D printing filament. Check out some of the schedule in the last link.

We are holding a Book Sprint during Summer X - where we spend 3 days on documenting all of our work on the Seed Eco-Home and Aquaponic Greenhouse, so it is more available for public consumption. See more about this and the context -

Collaboration Architecture for a Book Sprint on the Seed Eco-Home

  • Layout must be performed in a cloud, realtime-collaborative platform. Google Presentations meets this requirement.
  • Overall goal: producing a 1000 sf kit home for $50k that can be built with you and a friend in one week.
  • Builders can assess the build technique and make suggestions for streamlining and cost reduction for the $50k kit house
  • A Builder/BOM Master can list a spreadsheet of items (kitchen sink, toilet, cabinets, breaker box, etc) and we can attach prices that come out of our BOMs
  • Module Master can translate each panel into a cost by taking Menards prices and attaching them to the modules - with the assitance of Master BOM.
  • Access to main pictures repo can be used to validate material usage with reality - getting a realistic cost predication based on workflow steps
  • Foundation cost and process can be assessed from video and pictures - attaching costs to reality with insights on the build process
  • Contractors would be ideal as participants who understand the process
  • Correlation of Google Presentation design docs with build pictures can be used to produce realistic BOMs
  • Graphics artists can make diagrams for how things function
  • Copywriters can provide attractive copy for the build process
  • Layout editors can provide robust format templates for content
  • Onsite collaborators have a 1 hour picture sprint to document existing parts of the Seed Eco-Home
  • Video producers capture and edit walk-through videos through some utilities, such as biodigester, PV, electric, hydronic stove, kitchen macerator, greenhouse
