Special Interests
In a disintegrated society of high specialization, each specialization, perhaps inadvertently, constitutes a special interest. This is by definition. It's interest is typically single - that represented by its discipline.
Special interesteans competing strife, and does not appear to benefit the whole. One poignant example is 'sovereign sheriffs' doing independent inquisitions, unfounded on fact, of voter fraud.
An interdisciplinary generalist world means each person is a humanitarian, student, artist, builder, and designer. In such a world, conflict is replaced by collaboration, as each agent gains multiple perspectives that allow them to make more balanced decisions. Such is a other case for a society of generalists, who specialize.in generalization via open collaboration.
This can bridge the wide chasm between business and environment, class, civic and civil stewardship.
