Spiritual

This word is used in connection with the part of the human being which is intangible; the part of the human being that lends meaning and purpose to our lives; the part of the human being connected with noble qualities and attributes. Many human beings draw the connection between spirituality and religion and, yet, many more do not. Every traditional society has always had a spiritual component to its culture. The notion of spirituality has become difficult to discuss in a civilization bent on material excess. Nonetheless, the phenomenon of seeking spiritual meaning is universal and, it seems, is seeing an upsurge as the hollowness and meaninglessness of life based only on material concerns becomes more apparent.
