This is what is used for large boats. Repurpose to treat brackish water would be possible.
This is a good idea of what is possible. The cost on this one in the link is 40k so probably only 10k in parts or less.
I'm trying to find a company that I knew about 5 years ago, price was under 20k for a unit on a trailer.
Design & Build of a water purification unit would be great.
