Summer X Update

Jump to: navigation, search

Because of the COVID situation, the Summer X program is postponed until a cure or vaccine is found for the virus. We will, however, plan on hosting remote events - including a Summer X remote session in September. This will be different than the current advertised curriculum, which we are reworking to fit more to a remote event. We needed to make substantial changes given that the onsite swarm builds are not happening. The focus of the September session will be the large-scale collaborative design principles to bring open source microfactories to many locations around the world. Our goal is to solve for effective open source product development so we can shift the economy to collaborative. September will involve builds including 3D printer, CNC torch table for making larger machines, larger scale 3D printing for making construction materials - and plastic recycling to make 3D printing filament - such that the larger prints are affordable. We plan on publishing the event announcement for the remote session by July 1 - including all details on the available kits.
