To improve to tolerances on the weak side, you might line it on the outside with sheets of clay and then a low albedo brick; it would protect against both total and partial failure of a panel, plus keep the water cooler, if so desired. Might be interesting to fill the rebar mesh with clay, set staked lime on both sides of it, and then portland cement. Might be stronger and the iron more protected, plus add a bit more elasticity from one-side deformation.James Clark 08:25, 14 June 2011 (PDT)
