WHY are you motivated to support/develop this work?

  • Do you endorse open source culture?

Open source culture is an expression of a natural human tendency. We must migrate back to being connected to our source of livelihood. Connection with our source is a truly essential element of a sustainable human experience.

  • Why are you interested in collaborating with us?

It would be an excellent way for me to meet my need to contribute to the well being of others. Also because building tractors and brick presses and CNC/CAD mills seems like alot of fun!

  • How do you think that the GVCS can address pressing world issues?

By connecting individuals to the source of their livelihood. GVCS kindles meaning, connection with the community and an authentic sense of purpose. All things we are currently neglecting at great cost.

  • What should happen so that you become more involved with the project?

Someone should tell me where I need to move to!

  • What are you missing in the project?

I'm missing deeper involvement! To effectively answer this question I'd need to be immersed in its development for awhile.

  • What are your suggestions for improvement of the project?

A simpler more concise homepage. Easier more organized access to your current supply of build manuals.

  • List all of your skills in these areas: Communications - Organizational - Computer Support - Finances - Design - Natural Building - Electronics - Automation - Metallurgy - Engineering - Fabrication - Agriculture - Energy - Architecture - Video/Graphics/Art - PR/Marketing - Education - Construction - Industry - CNC - Chemistry - Product Design - Other

Communications: I've attended several Non-Violent communication workshops/intensives I thoroughly enjoy helping individuals to identify feelings and needs. As well as creating strategies for effective dynamic relationships.
Computer Support: I've been involved with computers for all of my literate life. I have experience with hardware and networking. Web Development and Search Engine Optimization.
Design: I love design engineering. Ideally expressing form and beauty through an intensely revised function. My latest design project being my hot air balloon.
Natural Building: In June of 2010 my mother and I build an earthlodge. It is based on an ancient micmac elongated teepee structure with a living roof and cedar pole support. [1]
Electronics: I've created simple circuits, and have some experience with simple solder based repair.
Automation: Mentored an At-Risk-Youth high school group participating in a national robotics competition. [2]
Metallurgy: I have extensive experience sharpening tools of all shapes and sizes, I did this professionally for about 2 years while working at a semi-famous retail knife outlet in Freeport, Maine. I have limited understanding of specific types of steel and their respective applications. I have limited understanding of tempering steel in order to exploit wear resistance, flexibility, and edge retention.
Engineering & Fabrication: Self realized engineer/fabricator. Engineering and fabrication have always been natural tendencies for me as it applies to my D.I.Y lifestyle.
Education: I have some formal education in Psychology and Sociology. Construction: I have worked as both a carpenter's aid and an electricians apprentice and have the basic skills associated with both roles.
Industry: I've worked in industrial beverage manufacturing for Poland Spring Bottling. I've also worked in an industrial bakery in Lewiston Maine at the Lepage industrial Bbaked goods facility.
CNC: Computer controlled machining has always been of great interest to me, though I've never had any hands on experience with it.

  • How have you already contributed to the project?

By being connected to the natural human tendency for D.I.Y consciousness for the majority of my life.

HOW can you help?

  • How are you interested in contributing to the work of GVCS development?

I would love to get involved on any portion of the prototyping process, Design, Hand-on building, Testing, Development, anywhere I could be of most use.

  • Can you volunteer to work with us, and if so, how many hours per week?

Yes, I would estimate the majority of my time in a week could be volunteered. Depending on my proximity to the current project. As well as my capacity to contribute in an effective way.

  • Are you interested in working with us for pay? If so, what services can you offer, and what is your hourly or per-project rate?

Certainly, I change $25/hour for Web Development design/consultation

Yes, this phrase as Marcin used it in the TED video is what inspired me to learn more about this endeavor.

  • Are you interested in purchasing equipment from us to help bootstrap development?

Not immediately.

  • Are you interested in bidding for consulting/design/prototyping work?

Yes, this is primarily what I see myself doing with this team.

No, I plan on clearing out my storage unit this week in order to free-up some subscription money.

  • Would you like to see yourself working with us on a full-time basis?

Yes

  • Are you interested in using the technologies that we are developing directly?

Yes

  • Are you interested in being part of the world's first, open source, resilient community? The GVCS is the preparatory step for the OSE Village Experiment - a 2 year, immersion experiment (2013-2014) for testing whether a real, thriving, modern-day prototype community of 200 people can be built on 200 acres using local resources and open access to information? We are looking for approximately 200 people to fill a diverse array of roles, according to the Social Contract that is being developed. This may be the boldest social experiment on earth - a pioneering community whose goal is to extend the index of possibilities regarding harmonious existence of humans, ecology, and technology - as a beacon of light to benefit of all people on Earth.

Haha! Why yes, yes I am.
