Basics
- The Maker Movement has a significant share of the YouTube Space
- It can be divided into a few groups
- Artistic Making ( Cosplay / Chindogu / Hardware Speedrunning etc)
- DIY Scams ( "LIFEHACK, make FREE ENERGY DEVICE for FREE using COMMON HOUSEHOLD MATERIALS", uses lots of Hot Glue and Popsicle Sticks etc)
- DIY Projects / Documented DIY
- Full on proper OSHW development
- The categorization will have lots of Grey Areas and in general is a Fuzzy Concept , but should still be useful
- Short of pointing it out, and thus excluding it from the work DIY Scams won't be mentioned much further
- Also many adjacent spaces such as Review Channels / Artistic Making etc may not develop OSHW, but still may utilize it (increasing Machine Hours ), point out any issues/fixes, as well as provide Advocacy and Word-of-Mouth Marketing which is important nonetheless!
