Basics
- Acronym for "Vertical TakeOff and Landing
- Useful for small runways, and aircraft carriers, as well as landing in areas intended for helicopters (although for aircraft carriers, said aircraft qualification, said aircraft may need an arresting gear, and hardening for the immense G's produced by the launch catapult etc)
- Also used for landing/taking off from semi-destroyed airfields
