Visual Commit Protocol

Contributions

To facilitate ready awareness by hundreds of people on what every team member is doing, we use a Visual Commit Log:

  1. It consists of an embedded Googgle presentation, OSE branded, and open for anyone to edit
  2. Small screenshots are pasted to represent the most current work. Screenhot should be 50k or less of memory so document loads instantly.
  3. Each screenshot is hyperlinked to the source document or useful link.
  4. Entries are made on the top page of the Google Presentation
  5. New pages are brought to the top so that current work is at the top, for immediate access without scrolling down
  6. This window is embedded in the Summer X Dashboard / Control Room below.
  7. Not all entries are necessarily logged this way. Less prominent contributions are simply logged in one's Work Log
