OSPD Method Requirements + Value Proposition

General Approach

OSE is developing methods for civilization-scale engineering for a better world. This means creating the world around us: products, organizations, institutions.

OSE is evolving its focus to a generative problem-solving method. This means starting with the presumption and mental model that for tranformation to happen, the results of that transformation are by definition not yet present, and therefore many ingredients to that transformation must be created. Such ingredients include people, time, resources, money, capacity, standards, organizations, and institutions. The conceptually-simple answer to this chicken-and-egg problem is that many of these resources must be created.

There is also the side of OSPD process proper - and the context / infrastructure around this process. The context and infrastructure includes Motivation (Why + Moral Intelligence), recruiting, Zachman Framework for assuring that all relevant parties are at the table, and that other resources (land, materials, capital, labor) are available.

Specifications

  • A process to grow a developer pool on the time scale of 2 weeks, and to complete a development process with 12 core developers, 100 collaborators, and 100 documenters.
  • Process must train for Design Guide level skillset - ability to design the product conceptually.
  • Process must develop both the product itself and the enterprise to produce that product - ie, achieve the full definition of a 'product'
  • Production can occur at many scales from one off to dozens or hundreds
  • Focus is on appropriate technology
  • Process must involve OSE Specifications for Moral Intelligence
