Idea to couple the production of biochar with the reduction of iron ore to metallic iron. The pyrolysis gas generated during char production is not flared off but used in a rotary kiln for iron reduction. The process is carbon-negative. Heat is another co-product that could be used for space heating, greenhouses, etc.
Similar concept to this one: Biochar-Lime Co-production System.
