Lex Berezhny

OSE Developer based in Grafton, NH, USA. I'm interested in self-sufficiency and being able to fix my tools.

The Plan

My long term plan is to build a Microfactory and Factory.

The tentative step by step is as follows:

buy / bootstrap:

  1. 3d printer
  2. drill
  3. all materials for aluminum forge
  4. plastic filament until I build the filament maker
  5. rolling mill
  6. magnets
  7. any steel fasteners, drill bits, etc

steps:

  1. Assemble the Prusa i3 MK3 - expecting kit arrival mid-February
  2. Build an aluminum forge and start amassing ingots.
  3. Setup rolling mill and make some aluminum wire from ingots.
  4. Drill Press:
    • purchase steel pipe
    • forge base and other parts from aluminum
    • 3d print any other components
    • attaching drill i already own
  5. DC Motor from scratch:
  6. Lathe:
    • aluminum forged body
    • hand made dc motor
    • buy any components that can't be forged from aluminum or 3D printed in plastic
  7. Circuit Maker:
    • prototype the aluminum wire placement head
  8. Robot Board:
    • SiFive Freedom E310 SoC
    • ICE40HX FPGA
